Good evening JCSD families, The Pennsylvania State Police conducted a safety check for registration, seat belts, license, etc, at Juniata Elementary School this morning. There were many cars present with lights on at the entrance to the school. There was no emergency at JES this morning. In the future you may see emergency vehicles at any of our schools throughout the school day. Sometimes they are just visiting and conducting a walk-through. Other times they are there for an emergency situation. Please know that in the event of an emergency we will provide information to you as soon as we can but there are times that it is not appropriate to send information out immediately. Juniata County School District is aware of the rumor circulating on social media regarding an anonymous threat at schools. This unsubstantiated school threat is being circulated throughout Pennsylvania as well as other states across the nation. We want to reassure you that we are taking the steps necessary to ensure the safety of our students and staff. There have been no specific threats made to any schools within the Juniata County School District.

From The Academy for our students attending programs in Mifflin County: Important Academy Information The district has still not received all the results of the asbestos testing that was completed for the Academy. The Academy building will remain closed until the district receives all the test results. As a result, the Academy building will remain closed on Thursday, September 5, 2024. All high school programs for the Academy will be held in various instructional areas at Mifflin County High School on Thursday, September 5, 2024. All Mifflin County School District and Juniata County School District Academy students will be at Mifflin County High School on Thursday, September 5, 2024, for instruction. We will share more information as it becomes available.

Don't forget that picture day is tomorrow (9/5/24) at Juniata High School! Make sure you remember to bring your order form and payment with you if you plan to purchase anything!

Good evening! We want to remind everyone that there will be no school on Friday, August 30th and Monday, September 2nd, in observance of Labor Day. It's a well-deserved break for all of our hardworking students, teachers, and staff. We will resume our regular school schedule on Tuesday, September 3rd.

A reminder from our food service administrator Lauren Mowry: For the 24-25 school year breakfast is free for all students. If you have not received a direct certification letter, please consider filling out an application for the free and reduced lunch program. They can be done at www.schoolcafe.com or found on the school’s website, under Departments, Food Service. Good evening Juniata County School District families! Open House will be held tomorrow, Friday, August 23, 2024, from 2pm to 4pm at each school building. Please feel free to stop by and visit your classroom and teacher. School will be back in session on Monday, August 26, 2024. Freshman & New Student Orientation for JHS students is this Thursday (8/15/24) from 9:00-11:00 am. All 9th grade and new students (and parents) are welcome. Hope to see you there!

Attached is the revised calendar for the 2024-25 school year which will be approved at the June school board meeting.

Tomorrow's graduation will be live streamed. Here is the link: https://vimeo.com/event/4326758/69de89a859 A decision will be made tomorrow to determine if graduation will be held outdoors on Dietrick Field or indoors in the JHS auditorium. If the ceremony is indoors seniors will receive tickets (we'll figure out how many today) at practice tomorrow. We'll be watching the weather closely.

Reminder: There will be no school on Monday, May 27, 2024 for Memorial Day. Have a great weekend!
