This man was a Christian priest who ministered to persecuted Christian’s during the Roman Empire. There are many stories about Saint Valentine but the most popular one is about Saint Valentine secretly performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry under Emperor Claudius II rule. Another story suggests that he helped persecuted Christians and was executed for his defiance.
