Tennis Team
The Juniata High School Varsity Tennis team has had a very successful season. Out of the 12 matches played, not including districts, they’ve won 7. Below are the specific scores of each match:
Juniata vs Central Mountain: Lost 4-1 (Only doubles team Arthur Hazard and Ben Losch won their match 6-4, 6-2).
Juniata vs Harrisburg Academy: Lost 3-2 (Xane Whitesel won his singles match 6-0, 6-1; Doubles team Arthur Hazard and Ben Losch won their match 6-0, 6-1).
Juniata vs Selinsgrove: Won 4-1 ( Xane Whitesel won his singles match 6-3, 5-7, 6-4; Connor Peterson 6-2, 6-4; Doubles team Chris Martin and Owen Hubley won 3-6, 6-4, 7-6; Doubles Team Arthur Hazard and Ben Losch won).
Juniata vs Buchanan: Won 4-1 (Singles matches were won by both Xane Whitesel and Connor Peterson; Both doubles teams won).
Juniata vs Tussey Mountain: Won 4-1 ( All singles and doubles won)
Juniata vs Tyrone: Won 7-0 (All singles won with Chris Martin having a 6-0,6-0 victory; All doubles won).
Juniata vs Mifflinburg: Won 5-0 ( All singles and doubles won).
Juniata vs Tussey Mountain: Won 4-1 (2 singles alongside both doubles).
Juniata vs Tyrone: Won 5-0 (All matches won).
Juniata vs Lewisburg: Lost (no score reported)
This past week Xane Whitesel won districts and will move on to states. His teammate Connor Peterson won his first match but lost his second. The District Doubles team of Connor Peterson and William Hazard won quarterfinals but then lost to Westmont Hilltop. In the opening round Owen Hubley and Chris Martin lost to Bishop McCort. The tennis team has had an extremely impressive season and looks forward to supporting Xane in his future matches.
