Congratulations to Mrs. Lightner for being chosen as the January Staffulty of the Month by Student Council. Mrs. Lightner teaches English 11, AP Language and Composition, and Foundations for College Writing at East Juniata. While she is an amazing teacher, she is also an amazing person. Whether it’s a “Good morning!” in the hallway while walking to first period, or a proud note on an essay you wrote, she has the ability to make you smile even on your worst days. Her smile lights up her classroom, and she is always sure to push each student to their potential. Around the holidays, the end of the year, or just when she feels a student needs uplifting, she is sure to write each student a personal card, expressing her pride for her students and how she cannot wait to see what they accomplish in the future. Mrs. Lightner is sure to create a personal connection with every student and bring the best out of them. Everyone needs a teacher like Mrs. Lightner. -Addison Benner
