We are so proud of our 5th grade musicians as they return from District IV's Chorus Fest! Our four featured singers took the stage along with other talented musicians from around the state and made beautiful sounds while taking on difficult pieces (some even in different languages!). I asked Mr. Smith to give a brief recap and to congratulate our students from all of us at EJES - here is what our wonderful music teacher had to say:
"On Friday, May 12th four 5th Grade members of the EJES Chorus represented their school at the PMEA District IV Elementary Choir Fest held at Clearfield Area High School. The four students selected for the festival were Aubrey Fogle, Garrett Kerstetter, Eowyn Rendall, and Ella Snyder. These students, along with representatives from Juniata Elementary School, were selected to represent Juniata County School District in a choir featuring the best elementary singers from Juniata, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Fulton, Huntingdon, and Mifflin Counties. After several months of preparation and a day of rehearsal at Clearfield High School, these students and Clearfield alumnus guest conductor J.J. Bungo put on a stellar concert performance featuring spirituals, traditional choir pieces, and Latin texts. We are proud of our students' hard work, dedication and respectful representation of our school community and music programs. Excellent job!!!"
We are thankful for someone who dedicates so much time and energy into our young and upcoming musicians and thankful for student who are willing to put in the work. Congratulations to all involved. You all make us proud to be EJES Tigers!
