Dear Juniata County School District community,
It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of one of our valued bus drivers. Lucy Vawn, who has been a part of our transportation department for over two decades, passed away Monday morning, May 1, 2023.
Lucy was a dedicated employee who took great pride in her work and was committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students. She will be deeply missed by her colleagues, the hundreds of students she transported, and the families she served.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Lucy's family during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn the loss of their loved one. We also offer our support to our students she transported as well as the transportation department staff, who are grieving the loss of a valued member of our team.
We will be working closely with our transportation department to ensure that our students continue to receive safe and reliable transportation to and from school. We ask for your understanding and patience during this time of transition.
We will share information about funeral arrangements as they become available. In the meantime, please keep Lucy and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
