THANKSGIVING VACATION

Students and staff will be off for the Thanksgiving Holiday beginning on Thursday, November 27 through Tuesday, December 2, 2014.  School will be back in session on Wednesday, December 3rd.

MEETING NOTICE

There is a regularly scheduled School Board Meeting on Thursday, November 20th, beginning at 8:00 PM in the Fermanagh-Mifflintown Elementary School cafeteria.  Before the meeting, the Board will have a closed executive session to discuss contract and employee issues.  The public is welcome to attend the regular meeting and as always, there is a scheduled public comment period at the beginning of the meeting.

Athletic Seasonal Passes Available

The Juniata County School District will begin to sell Athletic Seasonal Passes on November 3rd from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Juniata High School.  The passes will be sold on November 5th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the East Juniata High School.  The passes may be used at all Juniata School District events.  The 2014/15 passes will be sold at a reduced rate due to the season already being in process.  The 2014/15 prices are as follows:  Family Pass – $80.00, Student Pass – $20.00, Adult Individual Pass – $35.00, Passes for Senior Citizens will be free with proof of Senior Citizen status.

After the two night sales of the Athletic Seasonal Passes, the Passes will be on sale in the District Business Office located in the Fermanagh-Mifflintown Elementary School.

Senior Citizens’ Free Thanksgiving Luncheon

What:  Senior Citizen’s Luncheon for all residents of the Juniata County School District, free of cost

When:  November 20th, 1:00 PM

Where: Juniata High School

Why:  Outreach to our community Senior Citizens to allow them to view what is taking place in our schools.
How:  The District Administration will meet and greet all people in the cafeteria.  Any Board Member who can make it to the function will be recognized.  Board members that cannot make the event will be recognized as well.  The Student Council will serve each senior citizen in the cafeteria. The Band and Chorus will entertain during the event.  The Art students will set up their work.  At the end of the luncheon, the Student Council members will walk any senior citizen around the school to view the school and what is taking place.
